CIPPD Group - for qualified psychotherapist/ counsellors

This monthly group supports qualified psychotherapists/ counsellors in maintaining their commitment to continued personal and professional development. CPD is a requirement of the 'British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists' (BACP) and the 'UK Council for Psychotherapists' (UKCP) in their ethical framework.

CPD can be defined as the continued growth of therapists after completion of formal qualifications and might consist of any educational activity that helps to maintain, develop or increase knowledge, problem-solving, technical skills, self-awareness or professional performance standards.  CPD includes 'formal' activities, e.g. courses, conferences and workshops, as well asself-directed activities such as peer supervision, CPD groups, online courses/ tutorials/ webinars /DVD's and related reading.

Therapists wishing to join can apply via the above email, where their details will be circulated to all existing members and existing members details will be given to the applicant so that everyone can check for potential boundary issues.  It is up to each member to determin whether such an issue exisits, examples include supervisor - counsellor relationship, client - counsellor relationship, teacher - counsellor relationship etc...
